Shifting gears...Bajar un cambio...

Hey, you. I am sorry if I am speaking in a whisper and may shush you here and there. I am just trying to keep it down since Berni dear is not aware of me posting this little something something. You see, the thing is...

SHE FRICKING GRADUATED!!!!!!!! (Pardon my language, but I had to say it: It fits like a glove!)

¡Hola!

Glee victory dance and all (She will love this, that Gleek friend of mine)

And so this post out of all posts is dedicated to her, without whom we would be (blank) and P, without whom my endless, recurring nightmares of certain professor yelling at me for my lack of punctuation abilites would have made me dig myself a whole and satellite dish my life from down there, without whom life would be pregnant with compromise, fake smiles and boredom galore.

You see, we both fought on the same side of the college trenches and it has been quite the ride, which is quite the understatment. And just when crashed hopes were getting the best of her, SHE DID IT!!! She dug in her heels and proved the world, and some nasty professor or two, she was a force to be reckoned with in the translation department.

And of course, there was partying until the break of dawn. And these pics won't let me lie...

Kiarita, the feline- apple of Berni's eyes would not have missed it for the world!!!

I hope that Berni can now leave all the useless undermining behind her and move on with her life, which is at its prime, and let the world admire how professional she can be with translation and people likewise ('cuz let us be honest, you cannot have one without the other... we have enough soulless yuppies going around...)

And so, making use of our "Taking it literal" section, I will dedicate this Taylor Swift ( I ADORE her, by the by!) song to her from the bottom of my heart, which helped me through my own translation-related trials and tribulations.  Because things will change, can you feel it now? These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down... Enjoy, Berni, enjoy! It is the first day of the rest of your life...

A disfrutar, Berni, a disfrutar.

Here you have the video with Spanish subtitles (pretty decent), but below you have a live performance to die for. Don't miss it!

Like dressing to a salad... Aderezos en tu ropa

Hello, citizens of the blogging world!!! Hope you are having a swell of a time. We are indeed. With -1º C (30º F), who wouldn't?

Since we are stuck in the rut of our four walls, we have decided to post a little something something, so that you get to know us a bit up and close. Below you will see a recount of our dearest, cheapest accesories, the Top of our Charts in terms of "clothing dressings."

Let us begin with Pauli's end of the deal. These are her fave.

Empecemos con los accesorios de Pauli. Estos son sus preferidos.

Now, shall we have a one-one time with each?

Ahora pasemos a verlos en detalle.

This bracelet is vintage: my grandma would sell these at her store about two decades ago but I was able to save it for myself. Chains are back and so I took advantage of it.

I love "fashiony" details! And this tiny purse is the best example. I adore it!!!

Moving on to brooches/pins, here we have an array of vintage and bargains. The cheapest were the black one and the pink one, each 50 cents of AR peso, which in US$ would retail at... practically for free! The rest are all vintage...

...like this beautiful vintage butterfly (also courtesy of Grandma)...

...but these owls hold a special place in my heart! I saw them and it was love-at-first-sight window shopping...

What about necklaces? Here we have one of the patrons of my clothing outfits. Funny story, I had given it as a brithday present to my Mom but she never wore it so you could call it a hand-me-down, right?

And this one right here is true testament to my penchant for owls. I have had it for a year now: found it in what you would call the dodgy end of Santa Fé street and it was so worth it. It is a pocket watch! How adorable is that?

Last but not least, we have a small necklace pendant that was like 20 cents of a US dollar but is ever so cute... We have matching ones as well!

Okay, how cute and adorable are Pauli's accesories? Love them!

¡me encantan!

Here are Berni's selection of accesories.

Acá tenemos los accesorios de Berni.

Even though my favorite accesories are the ones you put on your hair (more on that in a future post!), I do like to wear necklaces, bracelets, brooches, etc... well, who doesn't, right?! ;)

¿a quién no? ;)

The necklace on the right is quite simple, but I like the fact that the little ball sparkles! And the one on the left has sentimenal value because it belonged to my aunt and I just love it. It's so colorful that it yells "spring", a season I'm really looking forward to.

I have to say that years ago I wasn't used to wearing bracelets much, but now I just love them. I have many different ones but I especially like these because of their colors. The bangles have flowers on them and that's a win-win for me... I love anything with flowers on it. And the one with pearls and a bow? Perfect. Bows are another obsession of mine.

I love the silver ball in this bracelet. It has a little ball inside that tinkles when you move the bracelet. It's supposed to protect and offer well-being to the person who wears it. The little red heart was made by one of my uncles, who was a craftsman. And Pauli gave me the little boot as one of my birthday presents :)

And last but not least, we have the brooches. The white flowers came with a pair of woolen socks (the ones you wear around the house/to sleep), but they are so pretty that I wear them in hats, coats, cardis, etc. Then there's the little colorful brooch that was my mom's and she gave it to me. It's so cute, I love it. I bought the violet flower pin in Plaza Francia, where there's a huge crafts fair, which is awesome. And the beautiful brown flower was one of the other presents I got from Pauli. She's really the best friend a girl could ask for :)

Here's a closer look of my vintage hand-me-down brooch. Love the colors and the flowers, of course!!

And that's a wrap for B&P's fave accesories. As always, thank you for stopping by and we hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

B&P

Bonus track: Taking it literal

This time we have Nancy Sinatra with her number one single "These Boots Are Made For Walking". The song, the dance, the clothes, the hair... it's all so 60's that we just love it! Don't you? :)

Bonus track: Literalmente

¿Y a ustedes? :)
