Welcome back, citizens of the blogosphere! I have to tell you the truth. This is a trick up my sleeve. All the elements you are about to see are, actually. This is a summary of my latest eleventh-hour solutions because you can never have too many of those. Either looking for the perfect revamped necklace or for patching things up, it is all taken car of by Momma Pauli.
¡Bienvenidos nuevamente, ciudadanos de la blogosfera! Debo sincerarme. Esta publicación fue mi truco sacado de la galera...y todos los elementos que están por ver también. Es un resumen de mis manotazos de ahogada, porque siempre hay tiempo y lugar para ese tipo de soluciones. Ya sea para encontrar el collar reciclado perfecto o bien emparchar algo hasta dejarlo como nuevo, mamá Pauli se encarga.
Off we go. As third runner up, we have an owl necklace (enlarging my collection, I know). It was originally a key chain I found in Todo Moda, but I turned it into a necklace. It was too cute and colorful too pass up!!! (Let me remind you we are about to break into Spring time here so color is all I can daydream about.)
A empezar se ha dicho. Tercer finalista: collar de búho (sí, sigo ampliando mi colección). Originalmente, era un llavero que encontré en Todo Moda, pero lo usé como dije para un collar. ¡Tanto color y ternura no podían dejarse pasar así nomás! (Dejénme recordarles que por estos pagos vamos a hacer el ingreso a la primavera en poco tiempo por lo que los colores vibrantes son un tema recurrente en mis sueños diurnos.)
Second runner up, the hand-me-down flats. My sister got sick of them and threw them my way. (I usually pick up her clothing litter and I have to say I love the scavenger adventure. There are usually some items with great potential.) They are maroon/bordeaux. But I didn't like the fake cinch on it. SO I added 2 flowers that I came across at Todo Moda, again (monument to said store coming up soon). I had been looking for many weeks for the right flower and the right clasp, something that wouldn't take over the shoe or that wouldn't drop from my foot while running for my morning bus. So there you have them. The pearl in the middle complements the color very well.
Segunda finalista son mis chatitas, que ligué de rebote de mi hermana: se cansó de usarlas y me las obesquió al pasar. (Estoy más que ducha en esto de aprovechar sus sobras y debo reconocer que me encanta la aventura. Casi siempre hay objetos con mucho potencial.) Las chatitas en cuestión son bordó. Pero no me gustaba mucho el cinturón falso que las decora. Por lo que agregué dos flores que me encontré en Todo Moda (ya viene en camino un monumento a dicha tienda). Había recorrido muchos negocios, mucha peatonal, para dar con la flor perfecta y el agarre perfecto, un adorno que no fuera tan grande y se comiera al zapato ni que tuviera un sistema de agarre tan flojo que saliera volando de mi zapato ante la primera corrida para subirme a mi colectivo matutino. He aquí el resultado final. La perla en el medio es un complemento de color muy interesante.
First runner up, the watch consternation. Turns out, about a week ago, the strap of my cheapy cheap watch broke and at the same time, the battery of my back up watch died. Great timing, right? Go figure! Inspired by this beautiful tie-up bracelet from Anthropologie (the store that has brought you the outfits from Gilmore Girls; Glee is currently following suit),
Primera finalista, la consternación del reloj pulsera. Resulta que, una semana atrás, se rompió la malla de mi reloj baratanga y, al mismo tiempo, se terminó la batería de mi otro reloj, el de refuerzo. ¡Qué ingratos, che, ahora no me daban ni la hora! Me inspiré en esta pulsera de la tienda Anthropologie (que hizo brillar en su momento con sus creaciones a la chicas de Gilmore Girls y que actualmente desfila por todos lo capítulos de Glee),

One last for the cheap seats in the back, you Carry Bradshaws. I got a new bag from Fallabella (a chain store that has everything from apparel to ornaments). The prices there tend to make my purse starve out its money, too dear, yet this time it cost me only 40 US$. It is a classic model, yet tasteful and spaceful... and I am grateful (had to finish the rhyming pattern there). But I wanted to do it up a bit so I thought of tassels. I went to my local notions store (second monument coming right up) and I got each at 45 cents of a dollar, tallying up the score at 5 US dollars for 7 tassels, completely interchangeable. How is that for a good bargain?
Una más para los de los asientos más baratos ahí atrás, mis queridas Carries Bradshaw. Me compré un bolso en Fallabella (para los que no la conocen, es una tienda con ropa, accesorios y hasta decoración para el hogar). Los precios ahí suelen ser bastante saladitos, tanto que dejan a mi billetera famélica. Sin embargo, esta vez sólo gasté US$ 40. Es un modelo clásico, glamoroso, espacioso...simplemente grandioso (perdón por la rima barata, me tenté). Pero quería darle una vuelta de tuerca así que compré unas borlas. Para ello, recurrí a mi mercería de confianza (segundo monumento en marcha) y me llevé cada una por 45 centavos de US dólar, lo que lleva a un total de 5 US dólares por las 7 borlas, que pueden intercambiarse as gustéis. Buena oferta, ¿no?
